The British news agency Reuters quoted the Chinese health department as saying that only three cases were reported in China on Sunday, one of which was a case of local relocation while the other two people had come from abroad. The day before, the number of new cases was 11.

The Chinese government said yesterday that the coronavirus had been completely eradicated from Wuhan, the largest center of the virus, and that not a single patient was being treated in hospitals there.

The Chinese government has also issued orders to open schools across the country, after which the teaching process has resumed several months later. On Monday, tens of thousands of students were seen heading to schools in Shanghai and Beijing.

According to the Chinese Ministry of Education, students in the capital will have their temperatures checked at school doors and will have to show a "green" health code on a special app that calculates a person's risk of infection.
